The John Lofgren El Capitan boots are a lower profile plain toe version of John Lofgrens very popular Combat boots. They have removed the reinforced toe and the cap and delivered a sleek, rounded toe’d extremely comfortable boot for everyday wear. They are very versatile and handsome t’boot.
The leather is Horweens famed Chromexcel, a great tea-core leather with a lot of depth, a lovely lustre and some weight. It’s a very popular leather that ages beautifully and can be left to age and look worn or treated to keep them looking newer.
The last used is the 210 last. It has an average D width heel, nice slim shapely waist with a rounded and lower volume shaped toe, it feels snug throughout the foot (as it should be when sized correctly) with plenty toe wiggle room. They feel great on.
Comfort: These are extremely comfortable boots from the moment you slide your foot in. They have that immediate glove like feel. The leather feels thick but very supple and the heel is well balanced giving you a sure footed work boot like feel underfoot. We’ll say it again, they feel great on.
Construction & finish: The best materials and construction methods have been used in these boots, just see the DETAILS tab. The stitching is very neat and uniform and as with all John Lofgren boots the sole trim is even and nicely finished.
If you want a boot that is comfortable and solid, are beautiful, will outlast you and that you can pair with almost anything, this is that pair.
