The “Roots” boots are part of Rolling Dub Trio’s masterpiece collection, and deservedly so. The leather, construction, design, style and finesse that has gone into them is very apparent when you hold a pair. They are a very well executed pair of boots. This particular style has a low block heel which is more fitting to their parade boot style and it works extremely well in this case with the embossed leather and medallion toe cap.
The modified Munson last is very accommodating and great for a wide range of foot shapes. It has a wide and low profile that will be very forgiving through the break-in process. They are not slim but low volume across the middle of the foot (which will give and shape) and open out at the ball, allowing for good width at the toes. The Munson last is a real favourite. It is very comfortable and easy to wear. Looks great too!
The Emboss calf leather is very tough but pliable and really lends itself to the military parade boot style of these boots.
The construction is superb. Heavy duty and uniform stitching, kip leather lined, full hand-sewn stitchdown construction which is neatly finished, rubber cork soles which are comfortable and hard wearing, Quabaug heels and a cushioned full leather insole.
The Roots line of boots were designed to showcase Rolling Dub Trio’s superior craftmanship in making comfortable timeless footwear and that’s simply what they have achieved.
Made in Japan by a very small team of craftsmen and fully resole-able.
