The Whale by Rolling Dub Trio is a classic old school hobnail style shoe that demonstrates their great boot/ shoemaking expertise in abundance. The one piece upper is the hardest of patterns to make. It’s worth it though as they are seriously comfortable, they have a real glove like fit and feel that will only get better with age. Pair them with your turn up denims or classic trousers for a real classic style.
Made on the A series last (same as the Coupen, Stan and more) they are slim in the middle and back of the foot with a bit more width at the ball and toe’s. Due to the pattern and leather the fit feels a bit more relaxed/ less snug. See the sizing info.
The details: The leather is a high quality hard wearing crocodile embossed (no Crocodiles were harmed) calf skin. It is lighter weight than a lot of the leathers they usually use but is tough feeling and really adds to their comfort levels out of the box. They are Kip leather lined, have piped seams, a crepe and cork mixed outer sole (heard wearing with great traction for day to day) with good year welted construction and Cat’s Paw heels.
For the finishing touch the outer soles are finished with Rolling Dub Trio branded steel toe taps for extra wear protection.
They just have that something special.
