Vasco make beautiful and very well made lifetime leather goods and we were so pleased to hear that they had ventured into the world of sandals. It’s really quite hard to find a solid long life pair of sandals and as expected with Vasco, they have made a great version.

The leathers are slightly stiff but soon supple thick cowhides in very rich hand burnished/ washed colours. In no time the leather will soften up and shape to your foot and patina galore. Vasco leather is fantastic stuff.

The sole is solidly built with a double midsole (insole glued to midsole) which is cemented to the very hardwearing Vibram outersole and then nailed through. It’s a solid choice, will last a long time and you can also have them resoled much further down the line.

Take a look at the sizing info but the sandals have a good width, shaped arch support and are immediately very comfortable for the warmer months activities and around the house/ garden year round.

Made in Japan by very particular craftsmen.

Vasco sandals are very accommodating for a wide range of feet in width, they have good width at the ball and toes and are immediately very comfortable and supple. The do come up smaller than you would expect for their sizes so please go by the below info for a good guide. For US sizing, I would say keep to the below as most customers will experience there is no actual difference between US/ UK sizing with the brands we stock, all makers sizing is quite individual.

  • Vasco size Medium = 6.5 – 7.5 UK (heel to toe along the outsole: 27 cm)
  • Vasco size Large = 7.5 – 8.5 UK (heel to toe along the outsole: 28 cm)
  • Vasco size X-Large = 8.5 – 9 UK (heel to toe along the outsole: 29 cm)
