The Heimat Textil U Boat roll neck sweater is Heimats take on the classic Navy/ fisherman sweater and it is a great one.

Knitted from a full kilogram of premium virgin wool, this weighty roll neck is our take on the classic submariners jumper, worn above and below the waves during WWII. Not only is the wool heavy, but so is the gauge, it’s a hearty 5-gauge knit that’s designed to keep you warm on even the coldest of days. Made from extra-long fibres, its highly resistant to pilling and will continue to look fantastic even after years of regular wear, and unlike most knitwear producers we leave the natural oils in the wool yarn, meaning our jumpers have self-cleaning and water-resistant properties.
The sleeves and collar are attached by hand, which is more time consuming and labour intensive than using a standard machine stitch but results in a superior finish.

They are quite the sweater and as for warmth and comfort we can attest that they are great in both respects, very warm and comfortable.
In terms of care they are recommended dry clean only but they are fine to wash on a gentle cool cycle and hang dry.
The “model” is 5ft 10-11″ tall (180 cm), medium build weighing in at roughly 83 KG.
He is wearing a MEDIUM for an initial snug fit, with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath (not that you need it!), and generally takes a medium/ 16/ 38-40 (often a large/ 40-42 in Japanese made clothing) in most tops and shirts. A LARGE would also work well for extra layering room without looking oversized. The Heimat sweaters are meant to be worn lost without washing and they will give and shape (but not bag out) to suit your body shape.
