The John Lofgren Chelsea boots are the work wear answer to the more dainty single leather soled Chelsea boots that first come to mind. John has a real skill for taking an iconic style, seeing what a lot of us would like it to be, putting his own stamp on that and delivering it meticulously and that is what he has done with their Chelsea boots. Love’m!

They are made on their 110 last (the engineer boot last) which is very shapely, has a nice slim waist with a rounded shaped toe, it feels snug throughout the foot (as it should be when sized correctly) with plenty toe wiggle room. This last is great for a wide variety of foot shapes and gives the Chelsea boot a great balance that is substantial, relaxed and sleek. They will look great with both trousers and denim with varying width hems.

Comfort: These are extremely comfortable boots from the moment you slide your foot in. They have that immediate glove like feel. The leather feels thick but very supple and as with all JL boots, they give you a very sure footed feel. It’s also quite nice to have a pair you can slip on in seconds and be gone!

Construction & finish: The best materials and construction methods have been used in these boots, just see the DETAILS tab. The stitching is very neat and uniform and again, as with all John Lofgren boots, the sole trim is even and nicely finished.

The John Lofgren Chelsea Boots fit very similar to UK sizes and fit the same as the Engineer boots internally but with a bit more give over the top of the vamp due to the elasticated sides. An 8 US in the Chelsea boot fits similar to:

JL M43: 8 US

JL Donkey Punchers: 7.5 US

JL  Chukka: 8.5 (8 is more comparable in length but these fit very close/ tighter)
