Thee iconic Engineer Boot has been interpreted in diverse styles since the 1940’s when they were originally made as a shin protecting work boot.
There are huge variations in style, period correctness, use of materials and intended purpose from a lot of the current offerings. We are bound to be biased, of course, but after trying and handling a variety of Engineer Boots over the past few years of varying quality and style, we can honestly say the John Lofgren engineers are amongst the finest in the world today.
The original lasts: Are very shapely, have a nice slim waist with a sleek rounded toe, are snug throughout the foot (as they should be when sized correctly) with enough toe wiggle room.
Comfort: Is immediate. Padded footbed, well sized ankle straps for keeping heel slip to a minimum, great heel height, the width of the shaft is well balanced so you can still get your more tapered denims on and considering the materials and amount of heavy leather used, the weight is surprisingly light making them very comfortable for all day wear.
Construction & finish: The best materials and construction methods have been used in these boots, just see the DETAILS tab. The stitching is very neat and uniform, the heel well balanced and elegantly shaped and the sole trim is even and nicely done.

The John Lofgren Engineer Boots fit very similar to UK sizes. They are fairly volumous throughout the whole foot but the length in a John Lofgren size 8 for example is similar to:
-Red Wing: 8.5-9 US (7.5-8 UK)
-Viberg: 7.5 (2030 and 2045 last)
-White’s Boots: 7.5-8 D or E width
-Truman Boots: 8.5
-Trickers (and majority of British brands): 7.5-8 G/F
