The Gleaners zip boots by Rolling Dub Trio are a prime example of what RDT do best. Take a classic boot style, exaggerate some aspects, make it very much their own and make it very well. The Gleaners are Western styled Chelsea/ side zip boots with a slightly beefed up frame in an elegant, slightly dressy Western style. They’re versatile, comfortable, very stylish and popular.

The hand dyed horsebutt is from Italy and is a special order for EWA. It’s pliable, on the lighter side of horsebutt in weight, has a very subtle grain and feels very luxurious to touch. The core of the leather is Brown and is hand dyed Black by RDT in Japan giving a subtle colour variation across the boot (although it is quite uniform on them) and will, over time, show the Brown core in areas of wear giving the boots a very unique and beautiful vintage patina. Beautiful leather.

Constructions is top notch as always with RDT. The best components are used and the hand sewn direct welted (upper to the mid sole) construction is very neat, flat and handsome.

The Rolling Dub Trio Gleaners boots are made on a low profile E Width last which actually fits more like a normal to slim in the mid foot D width. They are very low profile and shapely at the arches and circle of the heel (heel around ankle area – see last image) with a slim shaft so if you struggle with engineers and have a thicker ankle and heel area then they will likely be too difficult to get on. Once on they will give and shape nicely in that area so they won’t continue to be so difficult as the leather is soft and pliable

Out of the box the Gleaners in a US 8.5 looks and feels very similar to the below albeit with a slightly longer slim end to the toes and less volume overall (excluding the Clinch CN last):
