The TB-139 3rd type jacket from Y’2 Leather is quite simply a stunning jacket. It is one of those jackets that, if you like the style (and even if you don’t really) looks and feels great the moment you put it on. The combination of the extremely supple lighter weight leather, the tone, the roughness of the suede and the ever so slightly worn in look makes it a real winner. The fit is fantastic too! The Steerhide suede/ rough out (rough side out) leather is 1.3 mm in thickness making this a medium weight leather (Lighter to medium) that is very pliable, immediately comfortable and not restrictive at all. There is zero break in required. It feels like a very heavy suede shirt but much more robust. It’s a great leather, has a very high end feel, beautiful shade and will look great when aged.
It’s a great fitting jacket and one that feels and looks great layered up or down. It is well proportioned all over, keeping with the traditional denim jacket type fits. For reference Mr model is 5Ft 11″ on a good day, circa 87 KG’s, long in the torso with a fairly wide chest and wears a size 40. He could comfortably have worn a medium weight shirt but for heavier layering would want a 40 or tough it out/ give it some stretch until the 38 conforms and stretches a bit.
There are nice and useful details including 2 internal leather trimmed pockets, Nylon lined throughout with popper closures. It comes supplied with Y’2 branded quality jacket hanger and branded coat bag.
The finish, as is to be expected form a company that specialise in leather jackets from Japan, great. Very neat and all well aligned.
This is a lifetime jacket that will look and feel superb the more you wear it. Enjoy!
The TB-139 3rd type jacket fit’s ever so slightly smaller than traditional Western sizes but is well proportioned throughout. The mannequin and “model” are wearing a size 40 and it is perfect for a slightly shorter fitted vintage style, quite slim fitting but not tight or restrictive with a medium weight layer/ shirt underneath. He would size up to a 42 for heavier layers. He generally takes a medium, occasionally large/ 16 / 38-40 in most Western sized tops, shirts and jackets.
He is 5ft 10-11″ tall (180 cm), medium build/ larger chest, weighing in at roughly 83 KG.
Thicker leather jackets, particularly horsehide tend to crease up and shape the the wearer more permanently than softer thinner leathers so advice would be to always oversize slightly, similar to the model and it will shape to your body better without feeling restrictive. This Steerhide though will behave like a thinner leather although it is a heavier weight for suede.

Bear in mind that a horsehide jacket less pliable and giving than many fabric or soft leather jackets you may own so for ease of movement you might want to go for the larger size if on the fence.
