Clinch Boots

Clinch boots, what to say? If you don’t know them or very little about them then, in short, they are about the very best of the very best in traditional, all hand made, precision footwear in the boots (that are actually made to be worn) world.

Minoru Matsuura is the owner, designer and maker. He is based in Tokyo where he started Brass Shoe Co in 2008 after a number of years of perfecting the art of shoe repair. He then started to make his own boots that were inspired by some of the vintage pairs he had re-crafted. Then Clinch was born.

Clinch boots are fully hand made, start to finish, using the the very best materials through an extremely time consuming process where everything is done by hand. Hand cut, soaked, sewn, lasted, hammered and finished. They truly are a labour of love and a work of art.

The custom lasts are another aspect which sets them apart. They are not generic. They are very shapely and angular (very comfortable as well) giving them a very vintage, almost dainty, aesthetic but in a very robust and meant to be worn style. They strike a great balance between dressy and “rugged”.
