The Gulf boots are a new design from Makers shoes and are a very original take on the Monkey Boot. Everything about them screams old world shoe maker. The smaller heel, fine stitch detail, a very shapely last and the beautiful Guidi leather make them very unique, original and stealthily classy. They feel tough as nails but are very very comfortable from the get go.
The Last: Is a good versatile fit for many a foot shape which is helped by the lace to toe design for wider feet if needs be. They feel like a generous D width, slim/ normal in the heel and waist that widens at the ball of the foot and then tapers in a rounded way at the toes. If you have wide splayed toes then a half size up from the size recommendation would suit you. A great shape to them.
The Leather: Is beautiful. It is Horsebutt leather from the esteemed Guidi tannery in Italy. Dyed Black throughout so no tea-core it is a tough feeling leather that has a very vintage look and feel to it, not a great deal of grain but has texture and the sheen is mixed. Very original, just like the boots and will age beutifully.
Construction: Is stunning! They are Goodyear flat welted and it has been carried out to perfection. They are so very very neat. The Stitching is neat and very intricate, the trim and finish are equal and very neat also and just look and feel extremely well made and balanced. Great for those that love the near perfect.
The Gulf boots are original, very comfortable and luxury in feel that will last a very long time and look better for it.
