The Zerrows square toe engineer boots are a great everyday pair of engineers and a little unusual and more classic biker in style. The last is a great shape, not bulky ( a little bulkier than their other lasts) or too sleek or dressy, goes with everything and is very comfortable for most feet form the get go.
They are made on Zerrows square toe last. This really is again a lovely silhouette, low more squared toe a bit like a classic cowboy boot silhouette with good width at the ball and a subtle taper to the square toe. It is curvy in the waist with good arch support (not White’s like but on it’s way) and normal to slim in the heel. It is low profile across the lower foot but with enough height for your toes not to rub which gradually rises above the arch to make it easier to get them on. It’s a different take on the engineer last but works very well and is very comfortable for wider feet being that bit more bulky/ room in width.
Comfort: Immediate, the arch support feels great but not overbearing at all, the weight is mid to heavier for an engineer, good heft but not clunky at all. They are a comfortable pair of medium shaft boots, much better after break in as the sole and leather combination will make them feel a bit stiff until a few wears in.
The Leather: Black tea-core Chromexcel leather from Horween USA. It’s great, vrey well know in general and ages beautifully showing the underlying Tan Brown core of the leather. You can either polish them up or let the core show through.
Construction & finish: The best materials and construction methods have been used in these boots, just see the DETAILS tab. The stitching is very neat and uniform, the heel well balanced and elegantly shaped and the sole trim is even and nicely done.
What’s more, they even come with extra leather insoles that you can add or remove to adjust the fit.
Made in Japan by people who really know what they are doing.
