A new favouite!! The Ulster sheepskin jacket from Addict clothes is a stripped back reinvented take on vintage British motorcycle jacket form the 50’s/ 60’s. It ticks so many boxes in terms of detail, minimalist look, construction, comfort and style and the sheepskin is the perfect leather for this laid back biker style jacket.

The sheepskin leather is fantastic and works very well for this jacket. It has Subtle grain and is tea core which means the underlying lighter Brown tones will show through with wear. The weight is perfect. It’s not flimsy and it’s not overly heavy/ thick, just that perfect wearable weight for the majority of the year with or without layers. It’s very comfortable immediately and feels like you are wearing the jacket instead of the other way around and it ages beautifully with lovely rolls and a sheen that develops in areas of high wear like the elbow rolls as an example. We cannot recommend Addicts sheepskin for immediate comfort and a great drape to a leather jacket.

The cut of the jacket is great. It is generous enough for ease of movement and comfort without looking or feeling big. It is very well balanced in the chest and shoulders with just enough back length so as not to appear short and can be worn with shirt tucked or untucked without looking odd . It’s neither a boxy or modern slim cut. For reference Mr model here is 5Ft 11″ on a good day, circa 84 KG’s, long in the torso with a fairly wide chest/ mid back and wears a size 40. He would not want to wear any other size and can layer up or down and it will still look/ feel great. The Sheepskin helps with this as it is easy to move in immediately compared to horsehide for example. The measurements do not look generous but the slightly larger armhole/ opening makes the jacket more generous than the measurements suggest.

When you look close you will see the detail that has gone into such a simple looking racing style jacket, the double leather flap towards the zipper and the bellows double brass popper sleeve opening scream quality and intent.

The finish, as is to be expected form a company that specialise in leather jackets from Japan, is flawless. Very neat and all well aligned.

The Ulster is such a great everyday, on and off the bike jacket that will age to perfection and replicate the vintage jackets we all see and covet.

Sizing information

The Ulster jacket is more of a generous fit compared to other Japanese sizing. It fit’s slightly smaller but very close to traditional Western sizes. The arm opening is slightly deeper than the AD-01 as an example making it feel a bit bigger/ roomy even though the measurements wouldn’t suggest it.

The “model” is wearing a size 40 with a t-shirt underneath (a shirt or medium weight sweater would have been fine also) and generally takes a medium-large/ 16 / 38-40 in most Western sized tops, shirts and jackets. Compared to horsehide the sheepskin is much more pliable to movement is much easier in a slimmer fit from the start.

He is 5ft 10-11″ tall (180 cm), medium build/ large chest, weighing in at roughly 85 KG.

Bear in mind that a horsehide jacket less pliable and giving than many fabric or soft leather jackets you may own so for ease of movement you might want to go for the larger size if on the fence.

A couple of notes:

We ship Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (and between if possible) using next day for the UK and expedited for the rest of the World including the EU. Tracking information will be sent to you by email at the time of shipping.

To keep things nice and simple and just incase you need to return an item the shipping cost has not been calculated into the price of your item/s. We feel that this way it is transparent and can price the item accordingly and not inflate the item cost to cover free shipping.

The shipping rate is calculated on the heaviest item in your cart/ basket only so no need to worry that you’ll be charged twice.

Please Note: Any items such as custom/ special ordered boots or items that have been altered in any way at your request or whilst in your possession are non-returnable/ refundable unless faulty when received. UK Returns:

Please contact us letting us know you wish to return an item.

Items must be unworn, all tags and associated packaging attached and in the condition you received them. PLEASE TRY SHOES & BOOTS ON ON A CARPETED SURFACE to keep the sole in new condition. We do understand the need to try on boots for a short time to assess the fit but creased leather or signs of longer wear will not be deemed as being in brand new condition and as you received them.

Return shipping is your responsibility (unless the item is faulty) and we would suggest sending the item by an insured (for the full value) and recorded method, as they are your responsibility until we receive them back. We can also arrange to email you a UPS returns label and deduct £10 from your refund or invoice you the same amount if it is an exchange.
Returns must be received within 14 (UK) and 14 (EU/ International) days of the date of delivery. Any returns received after this time will result in either an exchange or shop credit being offered only.

Once the goods are received back and inspected satisfactorily we will issue a full refund minus initial shipping costs within 24 hours to the original source of payment. Please leave up to 7 days for the refund to show on your payment source.

NON UK Returns:

Please use a shipping service of your choice. We recommend insuring the item. We potentially can arrange return shipping depending on your country so please get in touch to find out the cost.

If returning items from outside of the UK it is important that you mark the items as a RETURNED ORDER/ GOODS.

Please also declare the value at no more than £50 (or the equivalent in your country’s currency). If you do not do this, we will end up paying taxes and duties on the item for a second time around which will have to be deducted from your refund. Please do insure the parcel for the full value as the item is your responsibility until we receive it back.

All other conditions are as for the UK.

Upon receipt of returned items, we will issue a full refund for the amount paid for the items only or give an exchange or credit as required.

Exchanges:

Please follow the same steps as for refunds with the exception of:

Please inform us by email that you wish to exchange for a different size/ item and if in stock we will reserve your exchange item for you or alternatively order your size/ item in especially for you (subject to availability).

The exchange item will be sent out to you with free Shipping within the UK and at a discounted rate for EU and International customers. Please note that only the first exchange item will be sent out with free/ discounted shipping. Any subsequent exchanges will incur normal shipping charges, which will be payable prior to the item being shipped. We will contact you with shipping costs.

EU EXCHANGES: Unfortunately we cannot cover the import fees (VAT/ Any duty) for the exchanged import to the EU. We cannot recoup the costs of the initial import and so therefore it would mean too much of a loss for a small business like ours. We will make it very clear on the exchange paperwork that it is an exchange and be as helpful on the paperwork as it allows so that the fee’s are kept to a minimum.
