The IN-1 Indigo Horsehide deck jacket is quite simply your freezing cold armageddon ready jacket. It is a beast and a luxury one at that. It’s quite something.

There is so much to describe:

Soft and rich in depth hand dyed Indigo 1.3mm horsehide
Very heavy duty Black Universal 2 way zipper (great for bikers and easy access
Soft Mouton collar
Soft non scratchy long-fur alpaca and wool lining
Elasticated internal storm cuffs

The leather is beautiful, heavy weight but butter soft and very pliable horsehide (easy to move in). It is quite the feat to apply natural indigo dye to leather and by doing so it gives such a lovely depth of colour (which is really hard to capture in images, the colour is more like the darker worn images overall). On a jacket this is some of the nicest and most plush leather we have felt. Lovely.

The lining is so warm, soft and comfortable it will easily protect you from the worst of weather in absolute comfort. The details are plenty. Internal elasticated storm cuffs, reinforced stitching in areas of stress, 2 large outer hand warmer lined pockets, throat latch and a verty heavy duty universal 2 way zipper for access and comfort when sitting.

The finish, as is to be expected form a company that specialise in leather jackets from Japan, great. Very neat and all well aligned.

The IN-1 is a very well thought out and executed cold weather jacket and we don’t have a bad word to say about it.

Sizing information

The IN-1 Deck jacket is slightly smaller in terms of western sizing. The model is wearing a size 42 for a good fit on the whole, maybe a little longer in the arms (but they wil crease up) but not restrictive or big. He could size down to a 4o if wearing just a normal weight short etc.. He generally takes a medium-large/ 16 / 38-40 in most Western sized tops, shirts and jackets. A large in most Japanese made gear. He is 5ft 10-11″ tall (180 cm), medium build/ larger chest/ back, weighing in at roughly 84 KG. Thicker leather jackets, particularly horsehide tend to crease up and shape the the wearer more permanently than softer thinner leathers so advice would be to always oversize slightly, similar to the model and it will shape to your body better without feeling restrictive. This horsehide although soft will shape up and therefore look slightly smaller after break in. Please see how we measure our products here and compare the measurements chart for this item against an item of yours that fits how you would like this to. Bear in mind that a horsehide jacket less pliable and giving than many fabric or soft leather jackets you may own so for ease of movement you might want to go for the larger size if on the fence. Shipping & Returns

A couple of notes:

We ship Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (and between if possible) using next day for the UK and expedited for the rest of the World including the EU. Tracking information will be sent to you by email at the time of shipping.

To keep things nice and simple and just incase you need to return an item the shipping cost has not been calculated into the price of your item/s. We feel that this way it is transparent and can price the item accordingly and not inflate the item cost to cover free shipping.

The shipping rate is calculated on the heaviest item in your cart/ basket only so no need to worry that you’ll be charged twice.

Next day with UPS if ordered before 10am.

All import costs for with a product value above £300 (for the items only, not including shipping costs) are covered by East West Apparel and so the price you see on the product page is the price you will pay (which will get converted to your currency) + the below shipping costs. SALE ITEMS: Are non returnable/ refundable so please do check measurements thoroughly using the measurements provided. If you are unsure on sizing, please do get in touch so we can help with any information you might need.

We hope you are happy with your item/s but if for any reason you do need to return or exchange an item then we offer a full no hassle refund or exchange providing yiou adhere to the below.

Please Note: Any items such as custom/ special ordered boots or items that have been altered in any way at your request or whilst in your possession are non-returnable/ refundable unless faulty when received. So, please contact us to discuss any sizing details or queries and refer to any relevant sizing charts before placing an order.

UK Returns:

Please contact us letting us know you wish to return an item.

Items must be unworn, all tags and associated packaging attached and in the condition you received them. PLEASE TRY SHOES & BOOTS ON ON A CARPETED SURFACE to keep the sole in new condition. We do understand the need to try on boots for a short time to assess the fit but creased leather or signs of longer wear will not be deemed as being in brand new condition and as you received them.

Return shipping is your responsibility (unless the item is faulty) and we would suggest sending the item by an insured (for the full value) and recorded method, as they are your responsibility until we receive them back. We can also arrange to email you a UPS returns label and deduct £10 from your refund or invoice you the same amount if it is an exchange.
Returns must be received within 14 (UK) and 14 (EU/ International) days of the date of delivery. Any returns received after this time will result in either an exchange or shop credit being offered only.

Once the goods are received back and inspected satisfactorily we will issue a full refund minus initial shipping costs within 24 hours to the original source of payment. Please leave up to 7 days for the refund to show on your payment source.

NON UK Returns:

Please use a shipping service of your choice. We recommend insuring the item. We potentially can arrange return shipping depending on your country so please get in touch to find out the cost.

If returning items from outside of the UK it is important that you mark the items as a RETURNED ORDER/ GOODS.

Please also declare the value at no more than £50 (or the equivalent in your country’s currency). If you do not do this, we will end up paying taxes and duties on the item for a second time around which will have to be deducted from your refund. Please do insure the parcel for the full value as the item is your responsibility until we receive it back.

All other conditions are as for the UK.

Upon receipt of returned items, we will issue a full refund for the amount paid for the items only or give an exchange or credit as required.

Exchanges:

Please follow the same steps as for refunds with the exception of:

Please inform us by email that you wish to exchange for a different size/ item and if in stock we will reserve your exchange item for you or alternatively order your size/ item in especially for you (subject to availability).

The exchange item will be sent out to you with free Shipping within the UK and at a discounted rate for EU and International customers. Please note that only the first exchange item will be sent out with free/ discounted shipping. Any subsequent exchanges will incur normal shipping charges, which will be payable prior to the item being shipped. We will contact you with shipping costs.

EU EXCHANGES: Unfortunately we cannot cover the import fees (VAT/ Any duty) for the exchanged import to the EU. We cannot recoup the costs of the initial import and so therefore it would mean too much of a loss for a small business like ours. We will make it very clear on the exchange paperwork that it is an exchange and be as helpful on the paperwork as it allows so that the fee’s are kept to a minimum.
