Description

The WJ-02 Western Ranch style jacket from Y’2 Leather is a very cool and cosy jacket. It is a great shorter to mid length jacket in a tough steerhide and lined in a very warm wool pile. Simple but great in style and function.

The Brown roughout Steerhide is fantastic. Sometimes you have an expectation when ordering and it is so nice when expectations are exceeded as they were with this jacket. It is a heavier weight Steerhide, not horsehide heavy but substantial, particularly with the wool lining. It drapes very well (even with the wool pile inner) and no break in is required. There is a nice amount of rough in it’s roughout and the shade of Brown is very rich. It’s a great colour and will be superb when worn in and creases set in in the right areas.

It’s a great fitting jacket and one that feels and looks great layered up or down (see sizing info). It is well proportioned all over with a not to modern/ tight fitting upper body and sleeves, a straight cut down to the hem and a length that is perfect for those that wear their shirts out. For reference Mr model is 5Ft 11″ on a good day, circa 84 KG’s, long in the torso with a fairly wide chest and wears a size 40 for a great very comfortable fit. He could comfortably have worn a flannel shirt underneath but anything heavier he would need to size up. The best description would be a jacket that fits and looks great in the right size that is not restrictive for arm and shoulder movement and that doesn’t look oversized. Hard to find!

It is fully lined in the body in a very cosy and non scratchy wool pile and the arms are lined in a padded nylon for ease of entry, ease of movement, longevity and comfort.

The finish, as is to be expected form a company that specialise in leather jackets from Japan, great. Very neat and all well aligned.

This is an easy wear, popper closure and wear with all lifetime jacket that will keep you very warm and look and feel superb the more you wear it. Enjoy!

Sizing information

The WJ-02 jacket fit's just slightly smaller but very similar to traditional Western sizes and is well proportioned throughout. The model is wearing a 40 and it is perfect fitting, not tight or restrictive or too big and he could easily wear a thin or thicker layer in comfort. He would size up to a 42 for a couple of heavy layers though. He generally takes a medium-large/ 16 / 38-40 in most Western sized tops, shirts and jackets. He is 5ft 10-11″ tall (180 cm), medium build/ larger chest, weighing in at roughly 84 KG. Thicker leather jackets, particularly horsehide tend to crease up and shape the the wearer more permanently than softer thinner leathers so advice would be to always oversize slightly, similar to the model and it will shape to your body better without feeling restrictive. This Steerhide though will behave like a thinner leather although it is a heavier weight for suede. Please see how we measure our products here and compare the measurements chart for this item against an item of yours that fits how you would like this to. Bear in mind that a horsehide jacket less pliable and giving than many fabric or soft leather jackets you may own so for ease of movement you might want to go for the larger size if on the fence. A couple of notes:

We ship Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (and between if possible) using next day for the UK and expedited for the rest of the World including the EU. Tracking information will be sent to you by email at the time of shipping.

To keep things nice and simple and just incase you need to return an item the shipping cost has not been calculated into the price of your item/s. We feel that this way it is transparent and can price the item accordingly and not inflate the item cost to cover free shipping.

The shipping rate is calculated on the heaviest item in your cart/ basket only so no need to worry that you’ll be charged twice.

We hope you are happy with your item/s but if for any reason you do need to return or exchange an item then we offer a full no hassle refund or exchange providing yiou adhere to the below.

Please Note: Any items such as custom/ special ordered boots or items that have been altered in any way at your request or whilst in your possession are non-returnable/ refundable unless faulty when received. So, please contact us to discuss any sizing details or queries and refer to any relevant sizing charts before placing an order.

UK Returns:

Please contact us letting us know you wish to return an item.

Items must be unworn, all tags and associated packaging attached and in the condition you received them. PLEASE TRY SHOES & BOOTS ON ON A CARPETED SURFACE to keep the sole in new condition. We do understand the need to try on boots for a short time to assess the fit but creased leather or signs of longer wear will not be deemed as being in brand new condition and as you received them.

Return shipping is your responsibility (unless the item is faulty) and we would suggest sending the item by an insured (for the full value) and recorded method, as they are your responsibility until we receive them back. We can also arrange to email you a UPS returns label and deduct £10 from your refund or invoice you the same amount if it is an exchange.
Returns must be received within 14 (UK) and 14 (EU/ International) days of the date of delivery. Any returns received after this time will result in either an exchange or shop credit being offered only.

Once the goods are received back and inspected satisfactorily we will issue a full refund minus initial shipping costs within 24 hours to the original source of payment. Please leave up to 7 days for the refund to show on your payment source.

NON UK Returns:

Please use a shipping service of your choice. We recommend insuring the item. We potentially can arrange return shipping depending on your country so please get in touch to find out the cost.

If returning items from outside of the UK it is important that you mark the items as a RETURNED ORDER/ GOODS.

Please also declare the value at no more than £50 (or the equivalent in your country’s currency). If you do not do this, we will end up paying taxes and duties on the item for a second time around which will have to be deducted from your refund. Please do insure the parcel for the full value as the item is your responsibility until we receive it back.

All other conditions are as for the UK.

Upon receipt of returned items, we will issue a full refund for the amount paid for the items only or give an exchange or credit as required.

Exchanges:

Please follow the same steps as for refunds with the exception of:

Please inform us by email that you wish to exchange for a different size/ item and if in stock we will reserve your exchange item for you or alternatively order your size/ item in especially for you (subject to availability).

The exchange item will be sent out to you with free Shipping within the UK and at a discounted rate for EU and International customers. Please note that only the first exchange item will be sent out with free/ discounted shipping. Any subsequent exchanges will incur normal shipping charges, which will be payable prior to the item being shipped. We will contact you with shipping costs.

EU EXCHANGES: Unfortunately we cannot cover the import fees (VAT/ Any duty) for the exchanged import to the EU. We cannot recoup the costs of the initial import and so therefore it would mean too much of a loss for a small business like ours. We will make it very clear on the exchange paperwork that it is an exchange and be as helpful on the paperwork as it allows so that the fee’s are kept to a minimum.
