This version has been modified at our request to have Black canvas tape next to the arm zips for a slightly toned down contrast compared to the original and it worked a treat!

The AD-01 centre zip jacket from Addict is the original in their line up. It’s simple, clean, functional and looks great. Addict have based the AD-01 on the simple, clean lined and functional biker jackets of the 1960’s and they have done a fine job. A real unfussy great fitting head turner

The cut of the jacket is great, well balanced in the chest and shoulders with just enough back length so as not to appear long but long enough to cover your lower back, tuck or untuck a shirt and still have that classic Black leather jacket look. It’s neither a boxy or modern slim cut. For reference Mr model here is 5Ft 11″ on a good day, circa 84 KG’s, long in the torso with a fairly wide chest and wears a size 42. He could comfortably have worn a flannel shirt but would have to wait until the jacket has shaped and broken in a bit for thicker sweaters etc..)

The Horsehide is really lovely! One of our favourites. Subtle crinkly grain, immediately pliable which also retains its shape in true vintage style. For us, the leather is the perfect weight. It’s not flimsy and it’s not heavy, just that perfect wearable weight for most seasons. It’s very comfortable and feels like you are wearing the jacket instead of the other way around.

All the details have been well thought out and executed including Addicts own custom zippers, plush quilted lining, 2 slash hand warmer pockets, internal chest pocket, snap closure tab and steel buckle side adjusters.

The finish, as is to be expected form a company that specialise in leather jackets from Japan, is flawless. Very neat and all well aligned.

The Ad-01 is a great everyday, on and off the bike jacket that will age to perfection and replicate the vintage horsehide jackets we all see and covet.

Sizing information

The AD-01 jacket fit’s slightly smaller than traditional Western sizes. It has ever so slightly longer arms for good coverage whilst riding but they will also shorten as the sleeve’s develop those beautiful horsehide rolls and creases.

The “model” is wearing a size 42 with a t-shirt underneath (a shirt or medium weight sweater would have been fine also) and generally takes a medium-large/ 16 / 38-40 in most Western sized tops, shirts and jackets.

He is 5ft 10-11″ tall (180 cm), medium build/ large chest, weighing in at roughly 85 KG.

Bear in mind that a horsehide jacket less pliable and giving than many fabric or soft leather jackets you may own so for ease of movement you might want to go for the larger size if on the fence.

Shipping & Returns

A couple of notes:

We ship Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (and between if possible) using next day for the UK and expedited for the rest of the World including the EU. Tracking information will be sent to you by email at the time of shipping.

To keep things nice and simple and just incase you need to return an item the shipping cost has not been calculated into the price of your item/s. We feel that this way it is transparent and can price the item accordingly and not inflate the item cost to cover free shipping.

The shipping rate is calculated on the heaviest item in your cart/ basket only so no need to worry that you’ll be charged twice.

Flat rate of £7.00 for all orders.
Next day with UPS if ordered before 10am.

All import costs for with a product value above £300 (for the items only, not including shipping costs) are covered by East West Apparel and so the price you see on the product page is the price you will pay (which will get converted to your currency) + the below shipping costs. We hope you are happy with your item/s but if for any reason you do need to return or exchange an item then we offer a full no hassle refund or exchange providing yiou adhere to the below.

Please Note: Any items such as custom/ special ordered boots or items that have been altered in any way at your request or whilst in your possession are non-returnable/ refundable unless faulty when received. So, please contact us to discuss any sizing details or queries and refer to any relevant sizing charts before placing an order.

UK Returns:

Please contact us letting us know you wish to return an item.

Items must be unworn, all tags and associated packaging attached and in the condition you received them. PLEASE TRY SHOES & BOOTS ON ON A CARPETED SURFACE to keep the sole in new condition. We do understand the need to try on boots for a short time to assess the fit but creased leather or signs of longer wear will not be deemed as being in brand new condition and as you received them.

Return shipping is your responsibility (unless the item is faulty) and we would suggest sending the item by an insured (for the full value) and recorded method, as they are your responsibility until we receive them back. We can also arrange to email you a UPS returns label and deduct £10 from your refund or invoice you the same amount if it is an exchange.
Returns must be received within 14 (UK) and 14 (EU/ International) days of the date of delivery. Any returns received after this time will result in either an exchange or shop credit being offered only.

Once the goods are received back and inspected satisfactorily we will issue a full refund minus initial shipping costs within 24 hours to the original source of payment. Please leave up to 7 days for the refund to show on your payment source.

NON UK Returns:

Please use a shipping service of your choice. We recommend insuring the item. We potentially can arrange return shipping depending on your country so please get in touch to find out the cost.

If returning items from outside of the UK it is important that you mark the items as a RETURNED ORDER/ GOODS.

Please also declare the value at no more than £50 (or the equivalent in your country’s currency). If you do not do this, we will end up paying taxes and duties on the item for a second time around which will have to be deducted from your refund. Please do insure the parcel for the full value as the item is your responsibility until we receive it back.

All other conditions are as for the UK.

Upon receipt of returned items, we will issue a full refund for the amount paid for the items only or give an exchange or credit as required.

Exchanges:

Please inform us by email that you wish to exchange for a different size/ item and if in stock we will reserve your exchange item for you or alternatively order your size/ item in especially for you (subject to availability).

The exchange item will be sent out to you with free Shipping within the UK and at a discounted rate for EU and International customers. Please note that only the first exchange item will be sent out with free/ discounted shipping. Any subsequent exchanges will incur normal shipping charges, which will be payable prior to the item being shipped. We will contact you with shipping costs.

EU EXCHANGES: Unfortunately we cannot cover the import fees (VAT/ Any duty) for the exchanged import to the EU. We cannot recoup the costs of the initial import and so therefore it would mean too much of a loss for a small business like ours. We will make it very clear on the exchange paperwork that it is an exchange and be as helpful on the paperwork as it allows so that the fee’s are kept to a minimum.
